Description: One of set of 49 watercolours, 1 pencil sketch, 7 pen drawings, all the work of Staff Surgeon Edward Lawton Moss, R.N. of H.M.S.Alert during the British Arctic Expedition of 1875-76.

Note: Artist's note beneath: 'The foreground is in bosses of minute leaved verdure. It is a mile and half from boulder to glaciers. A trench bare of herbage is worn round boulders by tracks of musk oxen. A river course runs from glaciers through the valley.
