Full description:

Carving: Walrus tusk (a), on base (b). Curved ivory walrus tusk (a) is etched in black on both sides. One side (from bottom): walrus head with two tusks facing left; side-view of walrus with two tusks facing right; man (facing left), wearing a parka with hood down, trousers, boots and mittens, holding a spear in a hole; man walking (facing left) wearing a parka with hood up, cap, trousers, boots, and mittens and carrying a pack; head of a bear. Opposite side (from bottom): hare (facing left); fox (facing right); caribou with two antlers lying down (facing left); bird (swan?) (facing right); flying bird (facing left); head of a fish. Metal peg at centre of flat bottom corresponds to hole in base (b). Oval base is made from brown/green serpentine. Elliptical hole cut at top for insertion of tusk. Square white paper label "11" glued to bottom side of tusk. Square white paper label "11-" and circular orange paper label "14" glued to flat bottom of base; remnants of two paper labels also on base
