Carving (a) on base (b): Carving (a) of a man in grey/black soapstone. Man is carved in horizonal position resting on bent knees and right hand. Left arm is bent in the air. Nose, eyes and mouth are incised on oval shaped face. Cuffs and bottom edge of parka are outlined. Circular hole in right hand suggests presence of another piece (now missing). Two metal rods on one end of black and white rectangular plastic? base (b) correspond to holes in man's knees. Beige paper stamped with repeated green "ICI" and two parallel wavy lines inside a circle and "..et". White label "5" glued to man's chest and underside of base. |
