Full description:

Carving: Irregular-shaped black soapstone flecked with green. Carved in relief on one side (top to bottom): side view of a walrus facing left with pointed tusk, incised eye, nostril and whiskers, four claws incised on left fore flipper, hind flipper curved around body; side view of polar bear walking right with eye and mouth incised on pointed head; front view of human face, oval in shape with incised eyes, eyebrows and upturned mouth and carved nose at oblique angle; side view of polar bear walking left with eye and mouth incised on pointed head. Opposite side: side view of walrus facing left with pointed tusk, incised eye and whiskers, four claws incised on square left fore flipper, hind flipper curved around body. Incised on flat base: E7-56, syllabics (identify artist). Circular white paper label "116" glued to base.
