Sledge, model: Ivory runners are vertical at the rear and curve upwards and taper towards straight front. Five elliptical ivory cross-pieces are attached at right angles across the runners. Black thread is wound around two notches at each end of cross-pieces and threaded through circular hole in upper edge of runner. Two upright L-shaped ivory stands are lashed to two cross-pieces at the back with black thread through two holes in the base of each stand and through two holes in upper edge of runner. A horizontal cross bar is secured between the stands with black thread. Dehaired seal skin thong in X-motif is looped around cross bar and knotted through two circular holes in rear cross-piece. Ends of dehaired seal skin trace are threaded through two circular holes in foremost cross-piece to form a loop. Four pieces of seal skin thong are tied around centre of loop.
