Full description:

Whip: Dog. Handle is carved from a single flattened piece of wood (pick haft - from typed register entry), which tapers towards a knob at distal end. Four U-shaped notches are carved on one side and one notch on opposite side at proximal end to accomodate the fingers. End of dehaired seal skin (bearded - from typed register entry) thong line is secured to distal end of handle with wrapping of seal skin. Line decreases in size along length (spliced three times).
