Doll: Woman. Made of beige cotton fabric stuffed with vegetable fibre? Black eyebrows and eyes and red nose and mouth are painted on white face. Hair of vegetable fibre is wound into a knot at the top of the head and secured with a wrapping of red fabric and blue/white/black fabric and metal pin. Band of blue/purple/pink fabric is wound around the forehead. She is wearing an undergarment of blue and white striped fabric with downturned black velvet collar overlaid with waist-length shirt of red fabric. Shirt has double-layered cuff of black velvet over checked blue/white fabric. Band (27 mm wide) of floral printed fabric overlays straight bottom edge. Separate beaded collar attached to collar of red fabric covers the shoulders. Collar is of transparent green, transparent clear, opaque pink, opaque orange, and opaque facetted black beads threaded on white cotton thread. Thigh-length trousers are made from seal skin with the dark brown fur to the exterior. Band of dehaired dark brown seal skin is attached around the waist; band of dehaired red seal skin around the bottom of each leg. Decorated with vertical strip along each side of a central mosaic of small pieces of red and green dehaired seal skin on dehaired white seal skin ground flanked by a strip of cream fur and a strip of red dehaired seal skin. Knee-high boots are each made from three pieces of dehaired seal skin. A single piece of dark brown seal skin forms the sole, which is turned over the foot and crimped slightly at the toe. Leg section is made from one main piece of dehaired white seal skin seamed vertically down centre front and diagonally over instep. Upper edge is turned to the exterior to form a 38 mm wide cuff. Lower edge of cuff is decorated with small pieces of dehaired brown seal skin in 7x repeated "W" motif flanked by a strip of red dehaired seal skin. Thigh-length stockings are inserted into boots and project 75 mm from top. Each is made from cream seal skin with the fur to the interior. 21 mm wide cuff of seal skin with the dark brown fur to the exterior is sewn to straight upper edge of each stocking. Stocking is overlaid with white cotton fabric with lace border at upper edge. Structural sewing and applique are with sinew and white and black cotton thread.
