Bag: Tobacco. Body is made from two U-shaped pieces of seal skin (fjord - from label) with the cream fur to the exterior. Downturned flap is made from a single piece of dehaired seal skin dyed black decorated with dehaired skin mosaic in geometric designs in white, red, green, blue, yellow and brown skin. Strip of dehaired seal skin dyed red is inserted into seam around body, sewn across upper edge of body and around edge of flap. Tie is made from two pieces of same and for closure would be wrapped around bag. Interior is lined with two pieces of printed cotton fabric: outlined white flowers and leaves on red ground with small black lines; blue, green and white flowers and double row of blue dots on curved white lines on red ground. Structural sewing and applique are with sinew and thread. |
