Full description:

Mittens: One pair, man's. Flares towards straight upper edge at mid-forearm. Each is made from seal skin with the cream hair to the exterior. A single piece forms the back of the hand, palm, underside of the thumb and part of the front. A single piece of same forms most of the front and top of the thumb on mitten a; on mitten b, half of front and top of the thumb are each made from a single piece. 29 mm wide band of cream dehaired seal skin is sewn to the upper edge. Band is decorated with three parallel horizontal rows of repeated diamonds made of alternating red and dark brown dehaired seal skin sewn with black cotton thread. 20 mm wide band of seal skin with the dark brown hair to the exterior and interior is sewn to the straight upper edge. Loop of same is sewn to back upper edge of mitten a; tie of dehaired seal skin is sewn to back upper edge of mitten b. Structural sewing and applique are with sinew and black and beige cotton thread.
