Kayak, model: Wooden frame only, flat bottom, widest at mid-section Frame (a) consists of two gunwales which taper to a point at stem and stern, 6 rectangular cross beams mortised into the inner side of the gunwales, 1 cross beam (masik) in front of the cockpit, 8 bent ribs mortised into the underside of the gunwales, keelson, two side stringers which taper towards each end against the keel, two deck stringers, and a circular cockpit coaming (b). End of keel is notched into each end of the gunwales. Separate end piece of pointed dark wood is added to stem. Lashings are with beige thread and seal skin thong. End piece and deck stringers are secured with wood rivets.
