| Full description: |
Boot: Single, man's, knee-high. Made from dehaired seal skin in basically four piece construction. A single piece of seal skin (bearded - from label) forms the sole which is turned over the sides of the foot and crimped around the toe and heel. A second piece of dehaired seal skin (fjord - from label) forms the upper foot, forming a point at front of leg. Slit in skin, forming a loop, is made at seam on each side of foot 80 mm from toe. Leg section is made from two pieces of dehaired seal skin (fjord - from label) seamed vertically along centre front and one side. Skin at straight upper edge is turned to the interior to form a 19 mm wide casing. Two holes in casing at the back. Structural sewing is with sinew. Hole in leg and vamp patched on the exterior with seal skin. Evidence of wear on sole. |
