Charities based in the Institute

B.B. Roberts Fund Available to Institute members only.
Edward Wilson Fund Named after Dr Edward Wilson who died with Captain Robert Scott on returning from the South Pole in 1912, and financed by royalties from some of the Institute's publications and other donations. Grants from the fund, which are nominated by the Gino Watkins Memorial Fund Committee to SPRI, are particularly applicable to expeditions in which biological and ecological studies are prominent.
Gino Watkins Memorial Fund Gives grants towards expeditions that meet its objectives of guiding and inspiring enterprising people towards scientific research and exploration in the polar regions.

Other polar charities

Antarctic Heritage Trusts Provides links to the UK and New Zealand Antarctic Heritage Trusts' websites. Each website provides information and resources about historic conservation work taking place in Antarctica.
Augustine Courtauld Trust Founded by Arctic explorer Augustine Courtauld in 1956. Grants are made to charities within Essex, to help disadvantaged people (particularly the young), to help conservation in the county and to support Arctic and Antarctic expeditions.
Glacier Society Aims to preserve the history of America's polar explorations (especially in the Antarctic), to tell the story of the Coast Guard and Navy icebreakers, and to provide educational resources.
