Resources and facilities

Polar Studies students are full members of the Institute which gives them access to the SPRI's core facilities, especially the Library, the unrivalled Archives, and full Internet access. Students are expected to make a full contribution to the life of the Institute, and attend research seminars etc. where they find it either necessary or useful to do so. The Institute is part of the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Geography, and students are encouraged to attend seminars and/or lectures in those Departments, and any others within the University, if appropriate.

All students in Cambridge enjoy access to the tremendous bibliographic resources of both University and Departmental libraries. The Scott Polar Research Institute Library contains one of the world's largest polar collections. Earmarked funds are used to buy books and periodicals relevant to the Polar Studies course.
